About the Blog
Ohana Reads was created January 3, 2014, when a girl wanted to practice her love of writing and do something useful with it. Combined with her love of reading ( Thank you Twilight Saga), writing, organizing and social media, Ohana Reads was born.
About the Blogger
Hi, my name is Stephanie Ehmann and I run Ohana Reads! I’ve been running the blog since it was created back in 2014, and it’s been an adventure ever since.
I first became a book junkie when the need to know what happened next, after watching the first Twilight movie, consumed me and I finally found the book that did me in. Even though over time my tastes may have changed, I will forever be grateful for the Twilight Saga for introducing me to the world that I am involved with today.
I’m one of those people that no matter where they are, will have a book on them. Yes, even in the bathtub. It’s just something that you gotta learn to expect of me.
When I’m not reading, blogging or in school, I’m working at McNally Robinson Booksellers having the time of my life. I started working there beginning of July 2017, and I consider it a second home. (If you have any bookseller inquiries, please email me at
stephaniemcnallykids@gmail.com)
My goal in life is to one day be apart of the book publishing world, as a book publicist. I’m currently attending Ryseron University for their Publishing Certificate Program.

10 things you should know about me:
1. I am from East St. Paul, which is literally next to Winnipeg, Manitoba. (That's Canada for those who aren't aware.)
2. I frequently update my GoodReads page with what I’m reading, what I love, what I hate, and what I can’t wait to read. You could say I might even be a little obsessed with it. You can check out my account by going to my blog, which I linked above.
3. I have a shopping addiction. This applies to books, clothes and candles. This addiction also helps with my book hoarding addiction.
4. I’m candle trash. I’m a bit of a pyromaniac, so of course that doesn’t help with my obsession. If you decide to follow me on Instagram, know that you’ll end up seeing a lot of book related candles, because I certainly can’t stop myself from buying them.
5. I am also mermaid trash. I will read anything and everything mermaid related. ESPECIALLY if they’re the man eating, murdering kind. Nobody wants a soft mermaid, those just aren’t as fun.
6. I spend too much time watching TV, Netflix is literally one of my closest friends. If you ever need a new show to binge, I highly recommend: Jane the Virgin, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Stranger Things, Outlander, Lucifer, DC Legend’s of Tomorrow, The Good Place, Greys Anatomy, or Van Helsing. I warned you, I watch a lot of TV.
7. Over the course of the four years of blogging I got my name into the acknowledgements of three novels, Diamonds in the Rough by Michelle Madow and the paperback edition of Cress and Renegades by Marissa Meyer! Even after a bunch of years I still get giddy at the thought of having my name in print.
Kelley Armstrong and I, August 2013 |
9. The first author I ever met was New York Times Bestselling author, Kelley Armstrong. She is mostly known for her adult series, Women of the Otherworld, which actually has its own TV show. She has also written the YA series; The Darkness Powers and The Darkness Rising, as well as many other standalone thrillers and other adult fantasies.
I met Kelley on August 20, 2013, when she was on tour for her Cainsvile series. In particular, the first book in the series, Omens.
My sister, me & Kiera Cass at YALLFest 2014 |
10. In past years I’ve been to five book conventions, YALLFest 2014, BEA 2016, BookCon 2016, BEA 2018 and BookCon 2018.
