Why I Want It:

   When you first go into the series you think it'll just be another apocalyptic story, but trust me it's waaaay different! This is the first book I've read where the apocalypse actually happens during the book! That's right I said during the book, not before the book starts but during! It was a nice change to have. Another reason I want the book so badly is because I've always been fascinated by Talbot cards, I've never really done much with the fascination but this series definitely makes me want to learn more about them!

   Give me Jack or give me Death!

Why You Should Want It:

   To recap, the apocalypse happens during the book, talbot cards, a love triangle like no other, and finally two completely different boys that make you swoon.

Movie Review: The Maze Runner

Movie Review:

   WICKED is good.

   I'd just like to state two things before I go on, one; I was never a big fan of The Maze Runner book and two; I first read The Maze Runner two years ago. So I was really rusty when it came to finding differences between the two.
  When I first saw the movie trailer for The Maze Runner I was definitely excited to watch the movie. I've always felt that if you enjoyed the book then you wouldn't enjoy the movie or vice versa, you didn't enjoy the book and liked the movie.( An example would be my sister hating this movie but loving the book) I understand that is not always the same but I find most of the time it is. With me this is usually the case, which I was right with this movie.
  I am a huge fan of Dylan O'Brien.( He played Thomas) Naturally this made me a bit more intrigued to see the movie, but besides that Dylan did a perfect job portraying Thomas. Dylan also plays a curious and brilliant character on the show Teen Wolf, while watching the movie I could definitely see the little bits and pieces of that curiosity for Thomas's character, because of Dylan's role in the show you just know that he has the curiosity part down.
  When I first heard of an upcoming film I was excited to see how they would show the maze and the grievers. They definitely succeed past my expectations for both of these. The maze wasn't your basic ideal maze but a huge complicated design that was a mix of mechanics and plain old concrete. The Grievers were also designed to look and have the same feel of the maze. It was phenomenal how they designed everything.
   I didn't really enjoy Maze Runner the book, but after watching the movie I'm definitely going to give The Scorch Trails a go and I look forward to seeing the next movie!

   My favourite scene in the movie would have to be when Thomas just knew he had to remember what had happened before the Maze, so he just stabbed himself with the griever stinger.

1. Top book(s) of 2014 so far?

   Top books that I've read in 2014 so far would definitely be Lux: Beginnings by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Made for You by Melissa Marr, Diamonds in the Rough by Michelle Madow, Waterfall by Amalie Howard, really the list goes on for miles.



2. Best books with a one-word title?

   Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Ink by Amanda Sun, Unearthly by Cynthia Hand, Waterfall by Amalie Howard, and Witchlight by L.J. Smith.



3. Which book world would you want to live in for a day?

   I would love to live in the world of the Night World series by L. J. Smith. I've adored this series forever and feel like I am already apart of it.



4. Do you prefer reliable or unreliable narrators?

  I prefer a mix up of both narrators, it's always nice to experience something new.



5. Which book are you most looking forward to in 2015?

   Oh god, this question is like asking a little kid what they'd like for Christmas. For 2015 one of the books I'm most excited for would have to be one of these three ( I had to limit myself somewhere), Diamonds are Forever by Michelle Madow, Dead of Winter by Kresley Cole and Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.



6. Which dystopian world do you think is the worst?

   I'm not really sure if it's to be consider Dystopian but I really hate the world of the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman. I could never stand to live in this world. It's a terrifyingly beautiful world, but utterly horrifying.



7. Which food from a book do you want to try the most?

   Since I've already tried Dauntless Cake, I think I'd really like to try all the different Japanese foods mentioned in The Paper Gods series by Amanda Sun. She went into crazy detail about Japan and it just made me want to visit so I could experience everything for myself.



8. What are some of the most beautiful (in your opinion) 2014 covers?

   I've mentioned this series a lot in this post but I utterly adore the covers for the Paper Gods series! Rain's cover is just fabulous. The watercolour just reminds me so much of my childhood and I can't get enough of it. Another cover from 2014 that I loved was Talon by Julie Kagawa, scales and dragons and AHHHHHH PRETTY COVERS.



9. Zombies or unicorns?

   ZOMBIES OF COURSE. It's a virus, you never know what can come from those.



10. Would you prefer a book set in the distant past or far future?

   I would prefer a book set in the future, you can do so much more from the unknown then you can with what has already happened.

Why I Want It:

   I adored Aimee's Goddess Test series, so when Pawn came out I was super excited to read it! Then I read Pawn and I needed the sequel right away! The events that happened into Pawn were new and unique and I can't wait to see what Aimee has in store for us in Captive.

Why You Should Want It:

  Rebellions, copycat impersonators, The Blackcoat rebellion is an epic ride if you're willing to take it.

   I adore Magnus, cat eyes, wit and all. He was my favourite character in The Mortal Instruments series, and was high up there for favourites in The Infernal Devices. I'm excited to finally hear Magnus's side of the story, and hope it'll leave us with a little teaser for The Dark Artifices.

Why You Should Want It:

   The Infernal Devices is practically my favourite series of all time. The characters are breathtaking, the characters also include Magnus Bane. So I can expect that this book or these short stories will be just as amazing.

YALLFest Hiatus!

 Hello everybody!

 
   As many of you all know, YALLFest is coming up! Friday to be exact! My family along with I are going to be flying down from Manitoba to participate! With the trip going to be taking up most of my time,

This is what you guys should know

   because I will be in a different country I will not have any data to go online as often as I normally do. This means my access to social media will be limited, besides being at my hotel in the early morning or at night the only times I will be online is if I happen to be a cafe with wifi. So don't expect a lot from me on Twitter.

   I will have blog posts ready while I am away. If anything were to change on my blog in the next bit, it would be after I return from my trip because I would need to catch up on homework.

   There will be multiple trip posts scheduled for the end of November, so you will be able to read about my adventures there.

   If you are curious about my schedule for YALLFest, as in which panels or signings I am going to there will be a post on either Thursday or Friday on the blog.
