Review:

   What if the person I was isn't someone I was meant to be?

   I was offered the chance to read The Fire Sermon from Simon and Shuster, and at first I was really excited. The problem for me first began when I read the first chapter.
   I'm not quite sure why The Fire Sermon was labeled as Young Adult, the whole book screamed Adult to me, the way the characters thought and acted told you that story anyway. Sometimes I think that some YA books are labeled as YA because of the age as the main character. That is how I felt about The Fire Sermon.
   The idea of the Alphas and Omegas was fabulous! I couldn't have been more interested, I think that's why I actually read the whole thing. Only having one live while the other did, just peaked my interest I guess.
   The Fire Sermon was an interesting read, while the idea was fun and new I will not be reading the sequel.

Review:

   You always have a choice.
   I had won Rush, the first book in the series, in spring 2014. I didn't have a chance to read it until the September after, and I couldn't put it down. Immediately after, I RUShed (Pun intended), to the library to pick up Push, the second book in the series. Though I didn't enjoy Push as much as I did Rush, I was still looking forward to Crash.
   Crash was a slow read for me, while I went through it like a breeze the story itself was going nowhere. The book constantly felt like I was being pulled back and fourth between "The Game" and a major occurrence that happened at the end of Push. That was basically the book for me, because Silver didn't even do anything with the two events so the storyline went no where.
   The book introduced a bunch of new things that I felt were unnecessary to the plot, sort of like Silver didn't have an idea of where the storyline should go so she just threw something together. Not to mention how the series ending didn't end up making sense at all and could be seen as confusing.
   The storyline may have not been for me, but Silver sure does have a nice writing style. I'm not sure if I would have finished the book if it was otherwise.
   Rush had great potential for me, even when the rest of the series didn't, even though I didn't enjoy the series overall I'm still glad I read Rush.

Review:

   I only have one heart, and I'm saving it.

   When I heard there was going to be a fourth book in the Selection series, I was ecstatic. As much as I loved the ending to The One I still felt as if they still had a few loose ends to fix up. So this was perfect! Along with the idea of meeting Maxon and America's kids, I was 100% in.
   Eadlyn is not her mother. If you went into The Heir believing that they'd practically be the same person then you probably didn't enjoy the book as much. Or well that's the feel I got from the book and my sister anyway. We both went into the book with different expectations and that's how it turned out. I loved that Eadlyn was so different compared to her mother, looks and personality wise. I had loved Queen Amberly, and was deeply saddened when she passed in the third book so when Kiera described Eadlyn as a doppleganger to Amberly it felt like we got her back in some ways.
    I loved the stand Eadlyn took when she went through with The Selection, I understood why she could have looked a bit heartless. But honestly, with this Selection it was different and I'm glad Kiera treated it this way. Even with guards everywhere, the selected could have easily taken advantage of Eadlyn if she didn't stand up for herself. Kiera even makes a point of this in an event in the book. So to me a headstrong princess wasn't the worst thing.
   You'd think after reading The Heir everyone would have one guy they were rooting for, but I am at a crossroads. Honestly, I'm enjoying this group of selected better then I did with the original trilogy, and noooo it's not because they were gorgeous. With the original Selection the king and his people selected the girls for Maxon themselves rather then Eadlyn randomly picking hers. So this time they didn't have any political feelings to them, which was really nice, the group felt really diverse to me.
   I could probably go on forever about my feelings for The Heir, but I'll just let you see for yourself when you read it!
   I will 100% be picking up the sequel to The Heir, or rather the fifth book in the series when it releases. I am to deep into the series to have any chance of giving up now, especially with THAT CLIFFHANGER AHHHH.

  P.S At this point I have one real theory about the book, I think Kile's sister put his name in the Selection. She's just seems like the sort of person to do that.

Review:

Relax, oh paranoid one. I doubt there'll be Talon agents hiding in the potted plants.
   I think I've come to the conclusion that this series is just not for me. I know I loved every other piece of work that Kagawa's produced, but something with this one just bothers me waaaay too much.  The series just had too much of a rebelling/Government overthrowing feel rather then a dragon feel, and at this point I just can't stand those anymore. I've had my fill of them for a long time.
   Rogue had some of the same problems Talon did, like Riley. We got to know him a lot more in Rogue and one thing that I noticed was his age. The book kept having chapters where we'd go back in time and see Riley as a Basilisk, like 12 years back. If Riley was a 'hatchling' then that would have made him at least 15-16, adding the additional 12 years that would make Riley 27/28 years old. This means a 27/28 year old has feelings for a 15/16 year old. I am not okay with this, this screams pedophile in my book.  Even if dragons lived longer and age wasn't much of a difference, this was definitely a nope for me. This along with the 'inner dragon' urges, I just couldn't find myself truly enjoying the book.
   Ember in Rogue came off as a immature little girl, and honestly I felt sad that she was written like this for Rogue. In Talon at least she had the sense to know when not to do something or if it was too dangerous. In this one she was just a mess. Nope, I could have done without her character.
   Where Rogue did have some problems for me, it was still a fantastically written book. Kagawa knows how to keep her viewers interested, even when you utterly despise two of the three main characters.
   This series may not be for me, but I'm at the point where I'm too invested in the series that I just have to continue it. I will be picking up Soldier when it releases.

Recommendation Fridays: The Tiger's Series by Colleen Houck

   I had originally picked up Tiger's Curse for my train ride to Churchill Canada, from the minute I started it I was hooked. I couldn't put it down, every chance I got I was reading it. The same went with the rest of the series, when we got back from the trip I forced my mom to take me to the library ASAP. This had all happened about 3-4 years ago already, and I still love the series. It's grown on me and helped me learn more about India believe it or not.
   I was fascinated by what I had to learn about the country, where you leant suff about India in school the school system still doesn't teach you the little things. The Tigers Series did.
   This series is a whirl wind of adventure and gorgeous boys and settings, it's definitely a story you will not want to miss!

   I hope you guys decide to give the Tigers Series a chance, this series is one of the ones you won't regret!

Review:

   Don't look. Don't Look.
   I saw the cover for Sisters of Blood and Spirit and just knew I had to read it. It immediately became one of my most anticipated books of the year. I requested it, and asked everyone I knew if they had a copy, then finally Kady Cross offered to trade me for pendants. I was ecstatic!
   I had originally wanted SoBaS for its beautiful cover but boy was the book itself fabulous too. I loved both sisters, Wren the dead girl with life, and Lark the sister alive but not wanting to live.
   The ghost Cross created creeped me the heck out, it had the perfect balance of eerie and disturbing. Along with the cuts and scratches you couldn't see, I had the chills. It was glorious.
   The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the fact the book was supposed to have a shadowlands where the dead people live, but the only thing we saw there was the library. We didn't really learn anything about it either. So I hope the sequel will teach us a lot more about it.
   Overall Sisters of Blood and Spirit was a stupendous read, and I can't wait to learn more about the shadowlands in the sequel!

   Is this what you wanted?
Greek mythology is a thing of mine, I just love it. Whenever I hear about a new YA book featuring it, I make a bee-line to get myself a copy. With Half-Blood I couldn't do that, I had the hardest time trying to find a copy. I checked all the places I would normally would get books and had no luck, it wasn't till I checked Book Depository that I had some luck. They were out of stock, but at least they carried it. Eventually I ended up winning a copy, a UK copy. So now I am happy and content.
   I love Jennifer L. Armentrout, I really do but this one wasn't one of my favourites. It reminded me too much of Vampire Academy, Alex's sass, the loving the instructor, it was just too similar.
   Besides that Half-Blood was a nicely written books, I'll definitely be picking up the rest of the books. I'm excited to see a bit more of Seth and hopefully some greek gods!

Review:

We'll stain this kingdom red.
   I had seen the commotion on Twitter about this series before I had actually started reading the series, most of the commotion was the fuss about getting an ARC of Heir of Fire at BEA 2014. With everyone freaking out about it I knew it was time to start the series. Like I said in my Crown of Midnight review, I was not a fan of Throne of Glass but I continued on to reading Crown of Midnight anyway, which I had adored. Hopping onto Indigo.ca I ordered this baby in seconds.
   If it is possible I think I liked Heir of Fire more then I liked Crown of Midnight. In HoF we were introduced to more characters, some of whom told their story and were not just there for a bit of brief background information or to foreshadow further events. Manon immediately became one of my favourite characters with all her wickedness, being an Ironwitch made her even better. Then there was Rowan, oh boy. I hope that ship sails.
   I grew tried of Chaol and Dorian in Heir of Fire, I felt like Chaol had his chance but betrayed Celeana. Aedion even though he was a new character, I grew tired of as well. I couldn't stand him, he creeped me out in a way that I just can't explain.
   The events in Heir of Fire all had a specific meaning and took a large part of the Throne of Glass series, even if you knew it or not. With Heir of Fire you can feel the embers starting to burn and preparing for the explosion that will be the end of the series.
   Throne of Glass made me intrigued, Crown of Midnight made me weep, Heir of Fire made me break, I wonder what Queen of Shadows will do to me?
   Queen of Shadows is expected to be released September 1st, 2015, and I will be spending every minute till then putting my life back together after what Heir of Fire did to me.

Recommendation Fridays: Need Series by Carrie Jones

   

   A few years ago I came across the Need Series by Carrie Jones and fell in love. I fell in love with it when the first three books had been released, so I had to wait a little over year for the fourth and last book in the series. The wait was definitely worth it though because even today it is one of my favourite reads as well as one of my favourite Pixies reads. I highly recommend giving them a try!

   The series would probably be best for people who like the following books;

Fantasy, Paranormal, Pixies, Fairies, Norse Mythology, Shapeshifters

But it is also a great series for anyone!
