When she’s called upon to teach his majesty’s soldiers how to read and write, she jumps at the chance to serve her kingdom of Demora—and to be reunited with her fiancĂ©, Captain Alex Quinn.
During a skirmish, Sage and Alex are separated. She watches him die before he can deliver important military intel—or so she thinks. She escapes from the enemy and makes an unlikely alliance with a mysterious soldier from a third nation. As Sage tries to rally their support against a common foe, the important political alliance is plagued by secrets and betrayal.

Review:
get out get out get out
Erin Beaty is back with Sage and Alex Quinn with The Traitor’s Ruin and I couldn’t be happier. If you recall last year, you’ll remember that I really enjoyed the first book in the series, The Traitor’s Kiss. So of course I needed to get my hands on it’s sequel.
With the backlash towards the first book in the series, the author and publisher hired a bunch of sensitivity readers to pay a particular attention to the Diverse characters in the series. If you had any doubts in regards to reading the first book because of it, I promise that the author has corrected her mistakes with The Traitor’s Ruin, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
I loved Traitor’s Ruin in all the same ways that I loved Traitor’s Kiss. The way the author describes the action, the battles and military stuff, and especially the way you fell for a background character and how they were immediately killed off ahaha. The story had the same feel and speed like the first book did, so it made it easy to jump right back into the world and start right back up from where we left off.
Erin Beaty also manages, oddly enough, to write an ending that you’re satisfied with, but also leaves you with a cliffhanger. She manages to leave you wanting more but without the major freak out when you realize that you have to wait a year for its sequel.
If you’re looking for a great follow up sequel with everything as great as the first book, then you’ve certainly got your contender. I look forward to reading The Traitor’s Kingdom when it release in July 2019.
