Blog Tour: Reunited by Colleen Houck

Hello and welcome to the Reunited Blog Tour, hosted by Rockstar Book Tours! I've been the biggest fan of Colleen Houck, since her Tigers series, as most of you all know by now. So of course I jumped at the chance to be apart of the blog tour! Today on the tour you'll see the top ten things Colleen is excited for you to look forward to in Reunited, as well as a giveaway! So I hope you all enjoy!

Reunited by Colleen Houck

Release Date: August 8th, 2017
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Series: Reawakened, #3
Format: Hardcover, 464 pages

Description from GoodReads:

After surviving her otherworldly adventure, Lily wakes up on her nana’s farm having forgotten everything. Her sun prince, her travels to Egypt, and her journey to the Afterlife are all distant memories.

But Lily is not the girl she once was. Her body is now part human, part lion, and part fairy. And if that isn’t bad enough, she must now harness this power of three and become Wasret: a goddess destined to defeat the evil god Seth once and for all.

With the help of her old friend Dr. Hassan, Lily departs on her final voyage through the cosmos and across the plains of Egypt. On the journey, she will transform into the being she is destined to become.

Reunited is the heart-pounding conclusion to the Reawakened series.

It is time for Lily to find her sunset.

Top Ten Things to Look Forward to in Reunited!

1. Ahmose-Though Ahmose makes an appearance in all three books, you really get to know this tall, dark, and handsome stranger in Reunited. Ahmose is a quiet man. He tends to keep his thoughts and emotions to himself, but he feels deeply and a lot is going on beneath his calm demeanor. There are many sweet scenes between Ahmose and Lily and I think you’re going to love him.

2. Cherty-My ferryman returns in Reunited. We learn more about his job and get to see him in action once again. He’s one of my absolute favorite characters. I love this surly cosmic sea captain and hope you do too!

3. Apep-The scary snake of Egyptian mythology finally rears his head, literally. As you know I’ve now included snakes in both of my series and though Fanindra can be frightening, this guy will have you shaking in your golden sandals. With fangs larger than spears and the ability to hypnotize you with his eyes, mortals don’t stand much of a chance.

4. People Eating Plants-There is a frightening world in Reunited where things aren’t quite right. The flora is quite nasty and has a terrible habit of luring in the unsuspecting with beauty and scent. Lily must learn how to navigate this dangerous landscape.

5.The Dreamworld-For those of you who are familiar with my series, you know that Asten is called the Dreamer and he has the power of entering the dreams of others. For the first time, you get to experience the dreams of my three heroines and see what they truly wish for through Asten’s eyes.

6.Seth-You finally get to meet the god Seth in this book and figure out how he’s been trapped all these centuries. His prison is not a pretty one and when he emerges, he’s ready to seek revenge once and for all.

7. Unicorn Battle-Yes, you read that right. There is a pretty awesome battle and the unicorns join in. What’s even more amazing than a unicorn battle? A celestial unicorn battle.

8. Heart Scarab-In Reunited you’ll learn what a heart scarab truly is and how the creation and trading of a heart scarab is a key that unlocks many things.

9. The Devourer-My evil queen of the dead returns in Reunited and she’s formed an army. I think the Devourer is my favorite villain. She’s just so bad, it’s almost good and I look forward to every scene she’s in.

10. The Waters of Chaos-In Reunited, you’ll not only learn about but visit the Waters of Chaos. This is the place where all the gods were created. It’s the origin of the cosmos and it’s the setting for the climax of the series.

I hope you’ll enjoy this conclusion to the Egyptian series and love it as much as I do. Hop on to the back of your unicorn and head off on an adventure where danger lurks around every corner and your destination is the stars.

February Wrap Up 2017!

February went by fast, and I don't just mean because it was only 28 days instead of 30 or 31. February is always a quick month for me and my family, my sister has a birthday at the beginning of the month and I, at the end, with Valentines Day in the middle. Then this year, being in University I also had reading week. So it all flew by so fast.
At the beginning of the month my work finally had their Christmas party, we went to a Brewery where we were able to sample a beer that they had made in the building. We also had a local restaurant come in and make us this amazing meal. I've honestly been debating on doing an adventure in the summer, where I do a downtown tour of Winnipeg and just find all the best local restaurants. Now I just have to find a few people to go on this adventure with me.
When Reading Week started, I went to a craft store and bought a bunch of stuff to make bookish candles. So I've made a bunch of sample ones already, I haven't been feeling the designing vibe, but I have been getting everything else worked out. It's been pretty fun.
Then this past weekend I went to my first Escape Room, my friend had her birthday party at one. We did one that had the highest "spook' rating, and I was pretty spooked when we started out but eventually my competitiveness won over and I rushed to get all the clues done.
Overall it was a good month, I didn't get a whole lot of reading done, but it was a good month. Hopefully next month is just as good, but with even more reading done!

Description from GoodReads:

   A sibling rivalry.
   A forbidden romance.
   A spell that changes everything.

In Heliopolis secrets abound and passions ignite as chaos rises.

From the  New York Times  bestselling author of the Tiger’s Curse series and Reawakened comes a novella full of celestial marvel, passion, betrayal, and evil that will grow to reign over humanity forever.

Before Lily and Amon met, before the cosmos was in chaos and needed three brave brothers to fight off evil, there were four siblings who helped rule the earth.
Each sibling had a special gift. Osiris, the god of agriculture, helped mortals to grow and thrive in their natural environment. Isis, the goddess of creation, fostered health and wellness. Nephthys, the seer, was able to keep the balance between all living beings and the universe. But Seth, the youngest sibling, was left without any special powers. The Waters of Chaos, which granted each god’s talent, were running dry, and Seth was paying the price.
As time passed, however, Seth’s determination and willfulness resulted in a very special gift, one that should have granted him the ability to enact wondrous change. But Seth’s competitive childhood gave him a heart so cold and vacant that instead, his gift brought about great evil.
Seth was now the god of unmaking, the creator of disorder and destruction. And he was ready to seek his revenge, dominating all who got in his way.

Review:

The cosmos will be in harmony.
There will never be a time when I'm not excited for a Colleen Houck book, especially when it involves her Tiger series or her Reawakened series. Reignited was no exception.
Myths are always varying depending on who is telling the story, in this case Houck was telling them. In Reawakened we learnt of the three brothers that were given immortality to stop Seth from taking over the world. Although we learnt of Seth and his powers, we never really knew why he wanted the world to end. In Reignited, we learn about how Seth came to be the way he is, and who he was as a person before Reawakened occurred. I really enjoyed how Houck made the story to give us more background to his character, I feel like with Reunited releasing in August, I'll be all that more excited to read it!
With Colleen Houck books, you always get that romance that you can never shake. Even with this being a novella, Houck doesn't leave you empty handed. Even in the short time we got to know them, I really loved Osiris and Isis' relationship. Their love for each other was sweet and very dedicated, you couldn't not want to read more of their story.
Reignited was short and sweet, and has me very excited to continue on with the series. The finally book Reunited releases August 2017.

Seth seized the woman by the throat, lifted her off the ground, and shook her.
“You will cease your caterwauling immediately.”

When she didn’t, he threw her on the ground and shouted, “By the gods, I wish the heavens would erase your face from my view!”

Her cries were suddenly cut off and all that could be heard was the bleating of the animals and the crackling of the wheat as it burned.

The woman had crumpled to her hands and knees. Her whole body shook but no sound came from her. Sticking the toe of his boot beneath her bulky form, he thrust her aside and her body rolled away.

Seth gasped. Where there had once been a hooked nose, thin pale lips, and eyes that sat too close to one another, he now saw a blank oval.

Skin as smooth as a reddening peach stretched where a face should have been.

The woman’s hands reached up, clawing, gouging the skin where the mouth and nose once were. But as if a switch had been flipped, her body jolted and then she slumped over, dead.
