Description from GoodReads:

Nita doesn’t murder supernatural beings and sell their body parts on the internet—her mother does that. Nita just dissects the bodies after they’ve been “acquired.” Until her mom brings home a live specimen and Nita decides she wants out; dissecting a scared teenage boy is a step too far. But when she decides to save her mother’s victim, she ends up sold in his place—because Nita herself isn’t exactly “human.” She has the ability to alter her biology, a talent that is priceless on the black market. Now on the other side of the bars, if she wants to escape, Nita must ask herself if she’s willing to become the worst kind of monster.

Review:

When did you cross over into serial killer territory, Nita?
I watched Dexter all those years ago when HBO was airing it, it was bloody, murderous and entertaining as heck. So, when they announced a paranormal version of Dexter, I knew I was going to be hooked.

A little blood doesn't bother me, and thank goodness for that, since Not Even Bones was filled with it. It had the exact kind of murder and mayhem that I was looking for, and even left a cliffhanger that had me dying for more.

I'm a big fan of mythical creatures and beings, so I was extremely excited when I picked up the book and was introduced to a bunch of new and unfamiliar monsters. You had everything from man-eating, to glowing and self-healing. It left me wanting to go more in-depth about these creatures.

My favourite part about this book, was that there were no good or bad guys. Everyone was their own version of hero and villain. It made for interesting characters, and murderous stories.

Not Even Bones was one of my favourite books of 2018, and I'm dying to get my hands on Only Ashes Remain, due September 3, 2019.

"Pain. Everyone is always in pain. Whether it’s a loose hangnail, a sore joint, a cramped back muscle—something. No human is never not in at least a minute amount of pain."
